Monferrato, the second home of choice for foreigners.
Monferrato's tourist real estate market is growing steadily. Luxury relais are opening, and prices are still much more attractive than in neighboring Langhe
The most popular vacation home? Certainly the Piedmontese farmhouse, close to services, in traffic-free areas and possibly with a beautiful view of the hills. These areas, in recent years, have been able to enhance their small towns with stores, wine bars, artisans, restaurants and all services within walking or biking distance, meeting the greatest demand of the tourist/buyer looking for a second home.
Due to the quality of life in these areas, people buy tourist property with a long-term view: that is, with the prospect of making it their first. Buyers are mainly Northern Europeans and Americans, but demand from Milanese and Turinese is also growing steadily. The Monferrato Casalese area is particularly prized for its convenient highway connection the metropolitan cities of Milan and Turin and their airports. They are all looking for a farmhouse that has already been renovated, or houses with gardens, even in need of renovation, but close to services. The provinces of Asti and Alessandria, are the most popular and in demand.
The house surrounded by greenery with its independence and view of the hills always finds an interested clientele. Quotations are stable and show a slight growth of about 2 percent in the last year, with prices tending to partially absorb inflation, as was the case in 2023 in the national real estate market.
There is no shortage of ongoing efforts by these areas, and particularly actively by individual municipalities, to create more incentives with social events and ever-increasing visibility.
