Real estate is an excellent investment
In times like these thinking about one's savings, obviously "for those who have any," or one's future, such as in the case of choosing how to live, is not easy. Everything tells us about the crisis, but someone, in this case me..., wants to send a different message and remind us that buying a home is still a good investment.
We should not throw away the experience of our parents and, for a lucky few, those of our grandparents, if his family has been passing down property ownership for several generations. Someone who bought a house 20 years ago and paid (at the euro exchange rate) 80-90,000 euros, today finds an asset worth more than 400,000 euros. An increase of 500%, albeit over two decades corresponds to 25% annually. Undoubtedly a nice gain even for those who bought it with a mortgage because the rent saved has abundantly covered their interest burden (especially if they were prescient in asking for the fixed rate). Even those who bought homes 10 years ago have revalued their investment by more than 200 percent. The purchase of one's home was and still is , in addition to being an excellent deal, an act of wise foresight for the protection of one's family. Ergo... While being biased, I personally recommend investing in brick.
