Serralunga, stretches over a long ridge on the
right side of the Stura river. South of the town, on high ground, rises the
sanctuary of the Sacred Mount of Crea, a nature park and UNESCO World Heritage
Site. The two towers in the municipal coat of arms refer to the
old castle once located on the brich of the same name (Brich Castelvelli), now
a pile of rubble and stones. Nearby stands the Brich d'la Furca, where those
who crossed the border without permission were hanged and where an ancient
stone that marked the border with the municipality of Mombello is still
visible.
